I wanted all of the speakers in one "room" and to be able to be muted by my tv remote. Just know, if you press mute on your TV, only the room with the sound bar will mute and the room with the SLs will continue to play. You can also control the volume this way as well. With two rooms, just press the icon to the right of the volume in the app and it will allow you to merge to the two rooms. Now, if you aren't like me and when you click mute on the remote, you expect all speakers to mute, then you can stop right here. Once connected in OS2, the speakers would not connect to the arc and sub and instead created a room #2. Once doing that, I believe I reset only OS1 and then factory reset the SLs. I would've never had thought to use OS1 for updating the SLs until I saw his post. So the biggest road block is OS2 recognizing but then not allowing the update to occur. Those gave me a headache but today takes the cake. I had also purchased the SL's today from Sam's after getting the arc and sub in on Tuesday. Well I also wanted to give my two cents on this as OP had made an update in chat before the resolve edit that really helped me out. I plan on calling customer support Monday evening but wanted to see if anyone here had any suggestions. I was hoping to have it set up this weekend but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. I'm frustrated and don't know what else to try. I've tried more than two dozens updates with different scenarios (wired, wireless, router reboot, unpower all Sonos' products and power them back up) and nothing is working. The update fails after less than 15 second each time.īoth of the One SLs are just listed in the app as incompatible and every time I try to update it it fails. Once I start the update they change to white and orange blinking. The LED lights on both of the SLs are solid white before I start the update. I downloaded the app, signed in on my wife's iPhone (ios), and tried the update. I reboot my phone (Android) and reopen the app. I plugged in the SLs directly to the router with a wire and tried updating. I unplugged my router for 5 min to let it reset and tried again. I unplugged all my Sonos products including the Arc and the two SLs. For both units they initiate setup, connect to wifi, are assigned to my room, and then proceed with the update. When I plug them in the app immediately identifies them and starts the setup. Every time I try I get "Error Code 1", which I find curious because Sonos support page doesn't even list an error code "1". I quickly hurried home and started to set them up. Today I was excited as I headed to Sams Club and picked up their One SL Shadow Edition twin pack. I set it up, connected it to wifi, connected it to the TV and was on my way. Gonna leave this here in case anyone else runs into it.Įarlier this week my Arc arrived. Whatever it was allowed the update to proceed on the 2 app. My conclusion is that even though they were factory reset something must've stuck when they were updated using the 1 app. EXCEPT when it went to update the SL it was successful unlike the previous 20+ times. The app recognized the SLs like it usually did. I factory reset the SLs again, uninstalled the Sonos 1 app, and then launched the Sonos 2 app. This is because I set up a "system" in each app. The Sonos 2 app was only recognizing the Arc and the Sonos 1 app was only recognizing the One SLs. With that app I was able to update the One SLs to a newer, non manufacturer build. I then downloaded the Sonos 1 Control app. On a whim I decided to factory reset the One SLs for the umpteenth time. I was using the Sonos 2 app for everything I attempted. I noticed in my system display that the One SLs were OS 1.
